Students Recognized At 2019 Academic Convocation
Catholic High School celebrated the academic excellence of 387 students at the Academic Convocation on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.
First honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and highest honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 4.0 grade point average. Special awards were also given to Nationally Recognized students and AP Scholars. Additionally students were honored for achievements on the National Latin Exam, at State Rally, and as members of the AICS team.
Ten students were honored for earning the Summa Cum Laude certificate and gold medal for the National Latin Exam. Those students were Anthony Chiasson, Luke Dardis, Walter Herasymiuk, Thomas Hertel, Alexander Lauve, André Miller, Kyle Oubre, Joseph Robin, Christian Thompson, and George Wilson.
Ebenezer Aggrey ’20, George Dial ’20, and Solomon Singleton ‘20 received the Brent David Pecue ’80 Memorial Scholarship, and Joshua Langlois ‘20 received the Jordan T. “Jordy” Rourke ’06 Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of the F. Wayne Frey ’71 and Marjorie “Grammy” Frey Memorial Endowed Scholarship was Joshua Dunbar ‘20. The Brother Adrian Gaudin, S.C. Scribe Memorial Endowed Scholarship, established by the Gaudin Family, was awarded to Christopher Purnell ‘20.
Twelve seniors were recognized for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Those recognized were Daniel Barfield, Chris Branstetter, Hays Burns, Roberto Carreras, Nicholas Fanguy, Landon Godso, Tommy Hertel, Gregory Juge, Joshua Langlois, Macullen Mire, Tucker Poret, and Reese Williams
