Students Recognized at Academic Convocation
Catholic High School recognized students at the Academic Convocation on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, for their achievements in academic excellence.
First honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and highest honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 4.0 grade point average. Special awards were also given to Nationally Recognized students, and for achievements at National Latin Exam and State Rally. In addition, 228 students were invited to be inducted into the National Honor Society.
Thomas Broussard í´16, Mike Delatte í´16 and Jenaro James í´16 received the Brent David Pecue í´80 Memorial Scholarship, and Jorge Getz-Garcia í´16 received the Jordan T. íÍJordyíñ Rourke í´06 Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of the F. Wayne Frey í´71 and Marjorie íÍGrammyíñ Frey Memorial Endowed Scholarship was Cameron Carpenter ’17. The Brother Adrian Gaudin, SC Scribe Memorial Endowed Scholarship, established by the Gaudin Family, was awarded to Jace Lejeune ’16. The Mildred Creaghan Robichaux and Gertrude Creaghan Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Brother Carl Evans, SC was awarded to Thomas Prochaska ’19.
Nine seniors were recognized for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Those recognized were Anthony Bueche, Roman Corripio, Josh Duke, Carson Piontek, Davis Polito, Brady Sartain, Parker Sulik, Parkes Winder and Josh Worley.
