Each student must read this year’s Big Read, Under Our Skin: Getting Real about Race. Getting Free from the Fears and Frustrations that Divide Us by Benjamin Watson, and two other selections assigned to his grade level and/or course.
The Mission of the CHS Summer Reading Program is to encourage a love of reading by providing selections that not only have literary merit, but are engaging and relatable as well. It also fosters critical thinking and writing skills our students need to be successful. The Program teaches students to engage in constructive dialogue that is respectful, honest and mature.
Please direct questions regarding the Summer Reading program to English Department Chair, Ms. Tracy Ducote at firstname.lastname@example.org.
