Taylor Empson and Brett Hebert, 2017 graduates, were recognized Sunday, July 16, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Empson and Hebert began cub scouts together with when they were in first grade and celebrated earning the highest rank as part of Troop 65.
For his Eagle project, Empson renovated the floor of the pavilion at St. Mark's Church in Gonzales. This building serves as the meeting place for Boy Scout Troop 65, St. Mark's Youth Group and other church organizations.
Hebert built a wheelchair ramp for the ALS Association that can be loaned to patients to use in their homes. Brett's project was dedicated to the memory of his grandfather, Arthur Pourciau.
