Tennis Team Ties for Second in State Tournament
The Catholic High tennis team tied for 2nd place with St. Paul and St. Thomas More in the state competition on Thursday. St. Paul won the tiebreaker, followed by Catholic High and then St. Thomas More.
At the end of day one of competition on Wednesday, the Bears were in second place behind Jesuit. The Bears met up with seeded players early in the competition. Brett Falgoust and Ben Perrodin received a bye 1st round and had to play the #5 seed from St. Paul. They lost 6-3; 6-3. All other teams won their 1st matches but then met up with seeds in the next round. William Loupe lost to John Woodard, #2 seed from St. Paul. Thomas Baggett lost to Jesuit #1 seed 6-0; 6-0. Michael Eggie and Brendan Aguillard lost to the #3 seed from Jesuit 6-4; 6-3 and Michael Edmonson and Charles Rees lost to the #6 seed from St. Thomas More 6-0; 7-6.
