The Catholic High wrestling is on the road to Bossier City for the Division I State Tournament

The Catholic High wrestling team took to the interstate in the late morning on Thursday with Bossier City as its destination.  The Bears will compete in the Division I state wrestling tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Century Tel Center in Bossier City.  The first matches of the tournament get underway on Friday at 9AM.  Semifinals will take place on Saturday morning with the finals in the afternoon.

The Bears will have a full squad of fourteen grapplers that are coming off of another Baton Rouge City title.  Ethan Ourso (106), Hunter Goodson (113), Canon Hunt (145), and Connor Finucane (285) all captured individual City titles.  “We are hoping our guys can continue to carry the success from City to State and build momentum for the rest of our team”, said coach Tommy Prochaska.  The veteran coach and 1992 Catholic High alum also added, “We wrestled really well as a team at City.  It was the first time that we’ve had our complete lineup all season.  I believe our guys feel confident going to Bossier and leaving everything on the mat this weekend.”
