The weekend of February 15th, the Catholic High Spanish Club attended the Louisiana High Schools Spanish Convention.
Thirteen members participated in the event. Throughout the Convention, students enjoyed a Quiz bowl and a dance. Prior to the dance, members learned how to perform the popular Latin American Salsa dance. Additionally, activities covering Zumba dancing, cooking and typical crafts were available. The Advisor for the Ministry of Education of Spain talked to the students promoting the Spanish culture and language in Louisiana. Also a member of the Hispanic National Honor Society addressed the group to explain the benefits of studying Spanish.
