Third Seeded Bowling Bears Ready For Bi-Region Playoff Match
The CHS bowling team had to wait for the loser’s bracket to be completed to learn its next opponent and seeding on the LHSAA playoff bracket. The Bears locked up the third seed and will receive a first round bye. CHS will bowl in the second round against the winner of #6 Albany and #11 Central. The second round match will take place at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at All-Star Lanes in Baton Rouge. A victory in round two would advance the team to the quarterfinals at 3:15 p.m. later that day.
CHS is part of the Bi-Region that includes qualifying schools from the Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Hammond metro areas. The winner of this Bi-Region would face the winner of the Shreveport/Lafayette/Lake Charles/Monroe/Alexandria Bi-Region.
The Bears advanced to the semifinals in 2016 before bowing out to eventual state champion, Brother Martin. The Bears defeated a strong Brother Martin squad earlier this season and is poised to make a run at a state bowling title in the coming weeks. The state semifinals will take place at the River Center on Friday, April 12.
