Three Catholic High Seniors Commit To Play Collegiate Baseball
Catholic High Seniors Alex Massey, Aaron Nola and Chris Sciambra signed letters of intent to play college baseball at LSU and Tulane.
Alex Massey has committed to Tulane University. A pitcher for the Bears, Massey has played varsity baseball for three years earning 2nd team All District in 2010. He as 7-0 with a 3.22 earned run average last year while striking out 52 batters and walking 15 in 46 innings.
Massey is the son of Roger and Gayle Massey.
Aaron Nola will play for LSU. A varsity baseball player for three years, Nola earned lst team All District in 2009 and 2010 as a pitcher for the Bears. He was lst team All Metro and lst team All State in 2010. He was selected to Collegiate Baseballí´s High School All American team in 2010. Nola was 7-0 with one save and had a 1.50 earned run average last year while striking out 71 batters and only walking 7 in 56 innings.
Nola is the son of A.J. and Stacie Nola.
Chris Sciambra has committed to LSU. He played varsity baseball for three years earning lst team All District in 2009 and 2010. He was lst team All Metro and All State in 2010. Chris led the Bears in hitting last year with a .374 batting average and a .550 on base percentage. He had 10 doubles, 2 triples and 9 homeruns and led the team in hits (46), runs (46) and RBIs(33).
Sciambra is the son of John and Ellen Sciambra.
Massey, Nola and Sciambra help lead the Bears to the 5A State Baseball Championship in 2010, the first title in 34 years. Kyle Achord is serves as head baseball coach.
