Todd Burford Commits To Swim for Louisiana State University

Senior Todd Burford has committed to swim for Louisiana State University and will enter LSU this fall.

Burford helped lead CHS to their first state swimming title on November 19, 2005 and was the 500 yard freestyle state champion. He was also a member of the state championship 400 yard freestyle relay team in 2005 and the state championship 400 yard freestyle relay team in 2004.
Burford was the team caption for CHS and received the MVP award in swimming at the spring sports convocation. He was named to the All Metro First Team and the All Academic Team.

‘I chose LSU because I wanted to be a part of a swim team that will be very competitive at the Division I level,’ commented Burford.

Burford is the son of Lisa and Frank Traina and Ted Burford.

Catholic High defeated Jesuit of New Orleans for the state title in a close meet and broke an 18-year wining streak by the Blue Jays.
