Track and Field Members Receive All-Metro and All-State Honors
Just when you thought the Catholic High track and field team was done racking up honors after another 5A state championship, more accolades were on their way. The Bears had seven athletes place in nine spots on the All-Metro team and two relay teams earned All-Metro honors. Kam Cummings was named Outstanding Track Performer for the Baton Rouge metro area based on his championships in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Sethan Hollier was the other Bear named to two events – the 100 and 200 meter sprints.
Distance runners Collin Hedges (1600 meters) and Peter Laville (3200 meters) landed on the All-Metro team. Zach Tom (shot put), Jacob Thornton (javelin), and Cameron Reed (pole vault) were field perfomers to make the All-Metro squad.
The state champion 4×400 meter relay team comprised of D.J. Butler, Tyrell Jackson, Lane Palmisano, and Sethan Hollier, and the 4×200 meter relay team of Kam Cummings, Sethan Hollier, Tyrel Jackson, and Lane Palmisano also landed on the All-Metro team. Hollier was the only athlete that made the All-Metro team in four events. Cummings appeared three times.

If this wasnÕt enough for the Bears, the composite All-State track and field team was released to the public on Sunday and many Bears dotted this squad as well.

He was also a member of the 4×200 relay team with Kam Cummings, Tyrell Jackson and Lane Palmisano. Hollier, D.J.
