Track And Field Team Is 3 For 3 In Outdoor Meets
The CHS track & field team made it three for three in outdoor meets this year with their 250 point effort in last Saturday’s Alumni Invitational. The Bears closest competitors were Christian Life (88 points) and St. Amant (79 points). Southern Lab, Brusly, Jehoveh-Jireh and McKinley also participated in the Alumni meet.
Top performers for the Bears on Saturday were:
Javelin: Jacob Thornton 1st with a toss of 167’8; Jacob Meek 2nd; Tyler Didier 3rd
Shot Put: Zach Tom 1st with a 55’9 effort; Tyler Hendricks 2nd
Discus: Matthew Berdon 1st with a 137’6 heave; Ethan Ford 2nd; Parker Wall 3rd
Triple Jump: Kam Cummings won the event with a 44’0 mark
Pole Vault: Jared Sapia 1st by clearing 11’6; Paul Cassisa 2nd
Kam Cummings captured the 110 in 14.1 and the 300 in 38.3. Vernon Langley was 2nd in the 110 and Cade Rounds was 3rd in the 300.
Sethan Hollier hit the tape first in the 100 in 10.7 and made it a double with a 21.5 win in the 200.

800: Brian Miller 3rd
1600: Collin Hedges 2nd; Thomas Laville 3rd
3200: Thomas Laville was victorious in 10:03 with James Lalonde 3rd.

The track and field team has a quick turnaround with the next meet coming on Thursday, March 23, at Broadmoor in the Bat Gourrier Relays. Field events get things underway at 3 p.m.
