Track and Field Team Members Participate in Mobile Meet of Champions

Members of the Catholic High Track Team were selected to participate in the Mobile Challenge of Champions track meet in Mobile, Alabama April 4 and 5 at St. Paulí´s Episcopal Track.

More than a 1,000 athletes from around the country competed in the two-day event.

Chance Stephens took first place in the High Jump competition with a distance of 6í´6íñ.  In the Javelin competition, Matt Root took second place with 179í´9íñ, Connor Tiersch, third place with 174í´0íñ and Matt Venable, fourth place with 168í´1íñ.

In Discus, Ross Quinlan placed second with 164í´1íñ and Nigel Despinasse took fifth with 146í´1íñ. 
Also placing third were the 4X800 Relay Team of Michael Tramonte, Michael Hubbell, David Toups and Pierce Hill with a time of 8:08.76. and D. Richardson in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 38.8 (best performance of the season).

Also placing at the Meet of Champions were the 4X400 Relay Team of Landon Flowers, Kam Cummings, Ryan Stephens and Davis Richardson in fourth place with a time of 3:22.9, Chadd Burns fourth place in pole vault with 14í´, Arthur Price sixth place in 110 Hurdles with a time of 14.75, Nigel Despinasse sixth place in Shot Put with a distance of 50í´ 11 _íñ and Ross Quinlan eighth place in Shot Put with a distance of 47í´ 6 _íñ.
