Track Team Dominates in Josten’s Invitational

The track team once again more than doubled the score of the runner-up team running away with eight team Josten’s Invitational. The Bears won five events and placed two competitors in the top five in 12 of the 15 events. Individual winners were Barrett Miller, Julian Parker, Kevin Taylor, Zack Oliver and relay members Jeremy Dismukes, Gabe Leblanc, Jace Guerin and Casey Fitzgerald. Selected team members then competed in the prestigious Mobile, Alabama Meet of Champions which was highlighted by a school record setting 4×800 meter relay, which won the race against 14 schools from throughout the United States. Team members were Philip Primeaux, Barrett Miller, Rance Guerin and Julian Parker.

The CHS Grizzly Relays begin today on the Catholic High track. Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running events at 4 p.m. Schools participating in the boys division are Baton Rouge High, Broadmoor, Catholic High, Episcopal, Glen Oaks, Parkview, Redemptorist, Scotlandville, Southern Lab, St. Michael’s, University High and E.D. White.

The 800 meter relay begins at 4 p.m. and the 1600 meter relay will close out the meet at 6:20 p.m.
