Track Team Sets Records in LSU Relays
The CHS track team had an outstanding performance at the LSU Relays this past weekend. The 4×200 relay team of Khalil Thomas, Ken Ward, Jacob Venable and Chris Handy ran one of the fastest times (1:26.94) in the United States in winning their event while the 4×400 relay team composed of Michael Grob, Matthew Rhorer, Jacob Venable and Chris Handy ran the fastest time (3:19.73) recorded by a Louisiana school this year.
Ken Ward won first place honors in the 110 meter hurdles (14.39) and broke the meet record. The 4×100 relay composed of Thomas, Ward, Venable and Grayson McManus garnered second place honors while other outstanding performances were recorded by shot putters Garret Broussard (52í´9 1/2íñ) and Raphael Mozie (51í´9 3/4í´), Khalil Thomas who finished third in the 100 meters (10.95) and Matthew Venable in the Javelin (170í´0íñ). Fourth place finishes were recorded by Joseph St.Cyr in the 3200 meters (9:40.60), the 4×800 team of Ryan Palmisano, Brian Tucker, Cullen Hodges and Matthew Rhorer and the Distance Medley Relay team of Keith Aldrich, Landon Flowers, Palmisano and Joseph St. Cyr.
