Two Catholic High Students Named National Achievement Semifinalists
Catholic High Seniors John Abrams and Gill Walker Jr. have been named National Achievement Semifinalists.
National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced on September 29, 2010 the names of more than 1,600 Black American high school seniors who have been designated Semifinalists in the 47th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program.
Semifinalists continue in the competition for 800 Achievement Scholarship awards worth more than $2.5 million to be offered next spring.
Abrams is the son of Julie Chenier and Mathew Abrams and attended St. Jude the Apostle School. He was also named a National Merit Commended Student.
Walker is the son of Shalonda and Gill Walker and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School.
