Two CHS Seniors Named Candidates for Presidential Scholars Program

Catholic High Seniors Tyler Daigrepont and Benjamin Wiseman have been selected as candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.  There are 15 candidates in the greater Baton Rouge area and 49 from across the state.

Candidates are chosen on the basis of exceptional performance on either the SAT or ACT. 

Approximately 500 candidates will be named semifinalists.  In April, the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars reviews the applications of all semifinalists and selects up to 121 Academic Scholars and up to 20 Arts Scholars.  All scholars are honored In June in Washington, D.C. for the accomplishments. 

The Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to honor graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated scholarship, leadership, artistic excellence and selfless service to others.
