U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry ’78 Speaks at Annual Prayer Breakfast

Catholic High School hosted its annual Alumni Prayer and Fellowship Breakfast on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 7 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. at Drusilla Place Catering. Guests included CHS alumni, wives, guests, members of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and members of the Catholic High faculty and staff.

This yearí´s speaker was U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, CHS class of 1978, from the 1st congressional district of the state of Nebraska. Eddie Samson, past president of the CHS Alumni Association Board of Directors served as the master of ceremonies. 

The chairmen for this yearí´s event were Ken Litz í´75 and Michael Acaldo í´85. Glen Randow, director of alumni relations, Barbara Camp, associate director of alumni relations and members of the alumni association board assisted with the event.

íÍIt was great to get together and visit with my classmates and it made me realize how many of my friendships have a connection to Catholic High School.  Though I have been close friends with Jeff for almost 39 years, when he speaks he always leaves me inspired and with a feeling of hope.  As he spoke about our nation only being as strong as our families, it made me realize how his beliefs are strongly influenced by the formation given to all of us at Catholic High through the Brothers of the Sacred Heart,íñ commented Louis Benedetto í´74.
