Ultimate Team Wins B Bracket in Deep Freeze Tournament
The CHS Ultimate team, Bayou Hazard, won the B bracket at the Deep Freeze regional Ultimate tournament held in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Saturday and Sunday February 23-24.
Bayou Hazard went 5-2 throughout the tournament, defeating Chattanooga School of Arts and Sciences, Grady High School, Chamblee High School, McCallie School and Madison Central High School.
Bayou Hazard senior captains Mark Graham and Wesley Freeburgh were outstanding leaders on and off the field all weekend. The team was also led by great performances by juniors Dylan Zeringue and Thomas Hannie, who led the team in goals throughout the tournament.
CHS Ultimate Coaches Timothy LaBauve and Michael Aguilar believe the Bayou Hazard performance in this tournament shows promise for the remainder of the season.
íÍThe team showed some grit and gut over the course of the weekend by facing the adversity of two big losses and not checking out of the tournament as a whole,íñ said CHS Ultimate Coach Michael Aguilar. íÍíThis could be a very big stepping stone for our players to bigger and better things.íñ
The Deep Freeze Tournament, held each year at the beginning of the Ultimate season, has been one of the premier early season tournaments in the Southeast for 12 years.
