Ultimate Teams Compete Well in Ternimus
The Ultimate team competed in the High School Terminus, a regionally competitive tournament in Atlanta, Saturday, March 29 and Sunday March 30.
Saturday began in spectacular fashion for CHS. The JV team won its first three games of the day by a wide margin, earning the number one overall seed going into bracket play on Sunday. The Varsity team won all three of its games, earning the number four overall seed going into bracket play on Sunday.
JV continued its undefeated streak and won the whole tournament in three more games on Sunday. Catholic was the most impressive team at the tournament, giving up only 11 goals for the entire weekend.
Varsity fell in a tightly contested match against Birmingham Forge in quarterfinals but rallied to win two games in the consolation bracket and take a fifth place finish.
The undefeated Saturday marks the first time in CHS history that both the JV and Varsity have been fully active and gone undefeated in one day.
“This weekend shows that we are well on our way to building a regionally competitive program. Our Varsity is on the cusp of breaking into the regional semifinal battle and our JV was dominant all weekend. If our players can continue to match the level of effort and work they have been putting in over the last month, we will be in a good place by the time the state/regional championship rolls around,” commented CHS Ultimate Head Coach Michael Aguilar.
