Ultimate Teams Compete Well in Winter Classic
The CHS Ultimate teams competed in the Leif Erickson Winter Classic on Saturday, November 9 in Marksville, Louisiana.
The Varisty team won the tournament, with its closest game being 13-7 in the championship.
“This weekend showed that our varsity players are doing well adjusting to their new roles this year,íñ commented Varsity Ultimate Head Coach Michael Aguilar. íÍIn our first tournament, we definitely were still looking around wondering where last year’s seniors were to do the dirty work for us. This tournament our current juniors and seniors were ready to take the reins and be the go-to players on the team.”
The JV had the best JV performance in a tournament in program history. The JV won three games and finished fifth.
“The JV, with great coaching from JV coach Gary Vicknair, has grown leaps and bounds in just this semester,íñ said Aguilar. íÍThey go in to every game, whether it’s against a Varsity or JV team, with the aim to play their hardest and do their best. That attitude is leading to record breaking performances for the program and improvement that is shocking.”
