Warrick Dunn To Visit Catholic High on Thursday
Catholic High graduate Warrick Dunn will visit CHS students Thursday, October 7. Dunn will speak to the student body at an assembly about his book, Running for My Life, and then spend time visiting with students.
Dunn graduated for Catholic High in 1993 and went on to play collegiate football at Florida State and professional football for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. He started the Homes for the Holidays program in 1997 to honor his late motherí´s dream of home ownership. Catholic High students have had the opportunity to participate in building some of the homes for Dunní´s Homes for the Holidays program.
In 2005, Dunn received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the only NFL Award that recognizes a player for his community service as well as for excellence on the field. In December 2010, Dunn will receive another honor, the Heisman Humanitarian Award, in recognition for his service to his community and to improving the lives of others.
