Catholic High School Student Council was host to the first-ever CHS/SJA Challenge on March 18, 2005 in the CHS Gym in celebrating student council week. Approximately 1,200 CHS and SJA students attended and participated in the challenge. The Catholic High School football team, coaches and administration were honored at an awards banquet March 14 as the recipient of the BellSouth Sportsmanship Award. Given since 1999 by BellSouth in conjunction with the Baton Rouge Area Football Officials, the award recognizes the team that maintains the highest level of sportsmanship as determined by the Baton Rouge Area Football Association.
