2017 CHS Golf Classic - A Great Time For A Great Cause

The Catholic High School Alumni Association hosted the 2017 Golf Classic on Friday, October 6, at Santa Maria Golf Course. Ethan Ford, Nick Dileo and Jake Rovira '17 Earn the Rank of Eagle Scouts

Seniors Ethan Ford and Nick Dileo, and recent CHS graduate, Jake Rovira ’17, earned the rank of Eagle Scout on September 19, 2017. Ford, Dileo and Rovira are members of Troop 7. To earn this rank, a Scout must progress through six ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in several leadership positions within his troop and provide service to the community. CHS Mourns The Loss of Mel Didier '44

CHS great and famed Major League Baseball scout Mel Didier ’44 passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, in Arizona at the age of 90. Didier, a member of the CHS Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame and a 2003 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame inductee, is best known for his 70-year career and association with Major League Baseball. Fifty-Nine CHS Alumni and Students Named AP Scholars by College Board

Fifty-nine students in the Catholic High School Class of 2017, 2018 and 2019 have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. Stuart Sonnier '92 Named CHS Finance Director

Catholic High School is pleased to announce that Stuart Sonnier ’92, has joined the Catholic High School Finance Office as finance director. Sonnier, a native of Louisiana, earned a degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and is a licensed CPA with more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience. Before returning to Louisiana in 2002, Sonnier had the opportunity to work for accounting firms in Paris, France, and Boston, MA. Registration Open for the 28th Annual Golf Classic

Registration is now open for the 28th Annual Catholic High Golf Classic hosted by the CHS Alumni Association. Alumni Return Home for Grand Reunion

Catholic High School welcomed more than 100 CHS Alumni and their families for the Grand Reunion honoring the classes of ’77, ’87, ’97 and ’07 on Saturday, July 15. The event included face painting, balloon twisting, inflatables and campus tours by current CHS students and recent graduates from the class of 2017. Catholic High School honored long-time coach and Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Famer, Pete Boudreaux ’59, on Saturday, July 15, at the dedication of the Pete Boudreaux ’59 Track and the unveiling of the Pete Boudreaux ’59 Bust. Taylor Empson '17 and Brett Hebert '17 Earn The Rank of Eagle Scout

Taylor Empson and Brett Hebert, 2017 graduates, were recognized Sunday, July 16, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Empson and Hebert began cub scouts together with when they were in first grade and celebrated earning the highest rank as part of Troop 65.  For his Eagle project, Empson renovated the floor of the pavilion at St. Mark's Church in Gonzales.  This building serves as the meeting place for Boy Scout Troop 65, St. Mark's Youth Group and other church organizations. Andrew Ford '17 Latest To Be Awarded National Merit Schoalrship

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation released its fourth and final list of scholarship recipients for 2017, and four Baton Rouge area students from four different high schools were on the list. CHS graduate Andrew Ford '17, is the latest memeber of the class to be awarded a National Merti Scholarship.
