Orange Wave To Compete in Metro Championship on Monday, November 9
The Catholic High Cross Country team participated in a meet “friendly” against Episcopal and St.Michael on Monday, November 2 at Highland Road Park. The course was slower than usual, thanks to a weekend of pounding rain, but made for a fun running atmosphere for the participants. The teams were divided up and runners were able to compete on the same team with those they normally compete against.
Despite the course conditions, senior Jeff Kelley paced all runners in the Interschool Invitational with an impressive time of 15:12.
Kelley and the Bears will next compete on Monday, November 9 in the Metro Championship at Highland Road Park. The starter’s pistol fires at 2:55 p.m. for the boys’ varsity race. The Big Orange Wave has captured eight of the last nine Metro meets and is the defending Metro champion.
