Tennis Team Honors Seniors With A Sweep At Regionals

The Catholic High tennis team had a dominate showing, sweeping both the individual singles and doubles titles as well as winning the overall Regional Team Title. The Bears’ winning score was 22 points with the next closest team, Baton Rouge Magnet High, following with 7 points.

CHS’ Nick Watson beat Baton Rouge Magnet High’s Logan Bueche 6-2, 6-1 to win the individual singles title. It was an all-Catholic High doubles final with the Bienvenu brothers beating Carson Chassaignac and Davis Weston 6-1, 6-0.

Following the Regionals win, the team honored seniors Will Aguillard and Stephen and Andrew Bienvenu (team captain). During the senior send-off, the boys presented bouquets of flowers to their moms, Tracie Aguillard and Yvonne Bienvenu.

The Tennis Bears return to action next week at the LHSAA State Championships in Monroe, LA.
