Track Team Takes State Runner-up Title

The Catholic High Track Team captured the State Runner-up title May 5 at the State Championship Meet at LSU. 

The Bears won three events and every member of the team who qualified for the meet scored valuable points to help the team garner the title.  This is the sixth consecutive year that the outdoor track team has finished the season as the state champion or state runner-up.  
Results of the meet included the following:
First Place Finishes:  Cole Stafford – 1600 Meter (4:13.87)
                                  (New State Record, New School Record)
                              Ken Ward – 110 High Hurdles (14.18)
                              Cole Stafford – 3200 Meters (9:20.07)
Third Place Finishes:  Ross Quinlan – Discus (140’1″)
                              4×400 Relay (3:19.38) Khalil Thomas, Jacob Venable, Matthew Rhorer
                                       Chris Handy
Fourth Place Finishes: 4×200 Relay (1.27.69) Khalil Thomas, Ken Ward, Jacob Venable
