Twelve CHS Students Receive Ad Altare Dei Religious Award from Boy Scouts of Baton Rouge
Twelve CHS students belonging to the Boy Scouts of Baton Rouge received the Ad Altare Dei Religious Award on Sept. 7, 2014. The award was presented by Bishop Robert W. Muench at the Catholic Committee on Scouting Ceremony at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Boy Scouts from Troop 7 receiving awards were Michael Bernard, Nicholas DiLeo, Ethan Ford, Ben Grandy, William Martin and Luke Williams. Boy Scouts from Troop 888 receiving awards were Andr_ Aguillard, Matthew Aguillard, Isaak Dawson, Michael deGraauw, Jason Marxson and Andrew Schoonmaker.
The Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) Religious Award is a Catholic Scouting program about the Seven Sacraments. Through this year-long program, the Scouts deepen their understanding of the Rites of the Seven Sacraments and the importance as a primary means toward spiritual growth in our Catholic traditions.
