Wrestling Team Captures Lee High Invitational Title
The Catholic High Wrestling team captured the Lee High Invitational Tournament Title on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Ketcham Center.
The CHS Bears earned their title with 253 points with second-place St. Paul’s of Covington finishing with 206 points and third-place Rummel finishing with 203 points.
Individual titles went to Chase Fresina in the 125-pound division. Chase and his brother Trent Fresina ’08 became the 18th set of brothers to win a Lee High championship. Both wrestlers earned titles as juniors.
In addition to Fresina’s win, the Bears took three additional individual titles with Blake Savoie at 119, J.P. Luckett at 171 and Michael Love at 189.
Also taking wins in the consolation bracket were James Loupe at 135, Ben Carroll at 145 and Patrick Bourgoyne at 160.
